What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Civil Estimator position at Beard Construction Group, L.L.C.?
Beard Construction Group LLC is growing and currently seeking a Heavy Civil Concrete Estimator, with a minimum of three 5 years of experience preferred in the private industrial market. This role supports heavy civil concrete projects throughout the Gulf Coast region and offers the opportunity to work on challenging, high-impact construction work with a respected contractor.
What You’ll Do
- Review bid packages and contract documents for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare bid proposal checklists and request estimate numbers and bid folders
- Analyze drawings and specifications; perform detailed quantity take-offs
- Develop project scopes and evaluate project requirements
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and fabricators
- Attend pre-bid meetings, bid walks, and site visits to assess existing conditions
- Apply labor, equipment, and material costs to quantities
- Develop preliminary schedules (manpower and equipment)
- Prepare, review, and finalize competitive project estimates
- Review estimates with supervisors and incorporate feedback
- Assemble and submit bid proposals per owner requirements
- Maintain estimating databases and software systems
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of civil site work and estimating experience
- Experience with HCSS HeavyBid (strongly preferred); Primavera scheduling experience a plus
- Proficiency in Excel and general estimating software
- Strong computer and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
- Positive, energetic attitude and a strong work ethic
- Motivated to meet and exceed measurable performance goals
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US and pass a background investigation and drug screen.
