Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage thoroughly to determine the scope of repairs needed, including auto body repair, auto painting, and auto glass replacement.
- Perform collision repairs using a variety of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including MIG welding and soldering), and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Utilize auto estimating software to accurately document repairs and communicate with customers regarding repair processes.
- Conduct mechanical inspections and perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks as needed to support comprehensive repairs.
- Prepare vehicles for painting using airless paint spraying techniques and ensure high-quality finishes through detailing and finishing work.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when working with large or complex vehicle parts, ensuring proper use of lifting equipment and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety standards; ensure all repairs meet quality control standards before returning vehicles to customers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in auto body repair, collision repair, or automotive restoration; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, sheet metal fabrication, soldering, and the use of various hand and power tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform auto painting, auto glass replacement, and vehicle assembly tasks.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and customer service skills to effectively communicate repair details.
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes including auto painting techniques such as airless paint spraying.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Experience working with auto body shop equipment such as welders, sanders, grinders, and detailing tools.
