SUMMARY:
Construction Management Associates, Inc. (CMA, Inc.) is seeking a motivated Summer Intern to support our project management team on various multifamily construction projects. This internship provides hands-on learning in construction operations, project coordination, scheduling, estimating, and document management. The intern will work in the field with occasional remote/ office visits and will gain exposure to real-world project management practices. Locations of projects will be in the Madison Wisconsin area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in project planning and scheduling activities.
- Help track project documentation such as submittals, RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Support the creation and organization of project files and logs.
- Assist with quantity take-offs for estimates.
- Help solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Support preparing scopes of work and purchase orders.
- Attend project meetings and help prepare meeting minutes.
- Participate in occasional field visits to observe construction progress.
- Use software such as Microsoft Office, PlanGrid, and Jonas to support project tracking and reporting.
- Assist Project Managers with miscellaneous tasks and administrative support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or certificate in Construction Management,
- Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and eagerness to learn.
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office; experience with construction software is a
- plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
