What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vacation Rental Cleaner Full-Time Rapid City position at Bear Property Management?
Full-Time Vacation Rental Cleaner (Career Ladder to $24/hr Fuel Card)
Bear Property Management | Rapid City, SD $18.00 to $24.00 per hour | Full-time |
We are hiring full-time cleaners who want more than a cleaning job. Most cleaning work has no next step. Ours does. Every full-time cleaner at Bear Property Management starts on a written, four-step career ladder with pay raises tied to skill tests, not to how long you have been around or who you know. Get good, prove it, get paid more.
We are specifically looking for people who can see themselves at Tier 3 or Inspector within a year of working here. This is a one time opportunity as the number of Tier 3 and Inspector positions are capped.
The ladder
Tier 1 | $18/hr | Starting point You learn our standards, our properties, and our systems. You clean within 25 miles of the shop with an experienced teammate until you are ready to run your own turnovers.
Tier 2 | $21/hr | After a minimum of 6 months and passing our cleaning tests You have shown you can hit our quality standard on your own, on time, on a busy day. Every cleaner who works with us is expected to reach this tier. Must be able to clean anywhere in the hills
Tier 3 | $23/hr | Lead cleaner You run inspections regularly, your cleans are consistently guest-ready, and you are trusted to train new hires. There are currently 2 openings at this tier.
Inspector | $24/hr company fuel card You are the last set of eyes before a guest walks in. You inspect, coach, and cover the region, and the company pays for your driving. There is 1 opening at this level currently.
Tier 3 and Inspector are limited seats. They go to the people who test through and earn them.
What the work looks like
- Turnover cleaning of vacation rental homes and cabins across the Black Hills, from studio units in town to large houses in the hills
- Staging homes to a photo-ready standard: beds, kitchens, bathrooms, restocking guest supplies
- Reporting damage, missing items, and maintenance needs the same day
- Sunday and Monday are our busiest turnover days, and rotating weekend availability is required
Who does well here
- Reliable. You show up when scheduled. In this business a no-show means a guest walks into a dirty house.
- Standards-driven. You notice the smudge on the mirror and the hair in the shower drain without being told.
- Wants to be measured. Your pay moves when you pass tests. If that motivates you, you will like it here.
- Physically able to clean for a full shift, lift 40 lbs, and drive between properties. Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and insurance required. Mileage beyond the local zone is compensated.
- Experience in vacation rental, hotel, or residential cleaning is a plus. A strong work ethic and coachability matter more.
