What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry and Inspector position at Bear Cove Cabins?
This role exists to provide Bear Cove Cabins guest and owners with the highest standards of clean towels and linens, while adhering to very high standards for overall cleanliness and appearance of the laundry facilities and the cabins office.
Basic Job duties:
· Flexible hours depending on business needs.
· Maintain and track linen and towel counts.
· Maintain and track in room amenities and laundry supplies.
· Communicate with Contract Cleaners on missing items.
· Reports to the Property Manager
Laundry Duties
· Safely operate commercial washers and dryers.
· Replace cleaning agents as needed.
Requires some housekeeping duties.
Inspect properties for VIP and Homewowner stays.
· Monitor feeder information on washers, make sure all drums are full, and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor. Set the proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen.
· Operate laundry equipment in accordance with the product specifications.
· Clean up machines and surrounding areas as necessary per shift.
· Push and pull linen carts that are full of linen.
· Participate in monthly linen inventory.
· Count and stock linen shelves.
· Must be able to function in a team atmosphere.
Daily Duties
· Review arrival and departure reports.
· Pack out for each cleaner based on daily reports.
· Track outgoing and incoming linen.
· Report linen counts in our operational program Breezeway.
· Communicate with the cleaners on their missing linen or towel count.
· Daily and weekly reports to be turned into the Property Manager.
· Running items to cabins if needed for the Inspectors or Guest.
Requirements:
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
· Must have reliable transportation and must be able to utilize own vehicle for work.
· Able to communicate effectively using standard English grammar and punctuation.
· Able to tolerate temperatures of0 to 140 degrees.
· Able to perform tasks requiring continuous walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, reaching, carrying, moving objects, and climbing short ladders.
· Able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
· Able to withstand exposure to cleaning chemicals.
· Able to properly use vacuum and a variety of cleaning solutions.
