Project Accountant

Position Overview

The Project Accountant supports daily accounting operations and serves as a liaison between project management and accounting. This role is responsible for project setup, cost tracking, budget variance analysis, and driving the invoicing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Project setup, budgeting, and subcontract/PO issuance
• Manage change orders and billing processes
• Prepare monthly pay applications and T&M tickets
• Monitor project costs and communicate variances
• Review billing reports to ensure timely invoicing
• Support audits and collaborate with accounting team
• Approve AP invoices (as assigned)

Requirements

• 2–4 years of accounting experience
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines independently

Preferred

• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
• Construction industry experience (3 years)
• Familiarity with Vista (Viewpoint) and Procore
