Position Overview
The Project Accountant supports daily accounting operations and serves as a liaison between project management and accounting. This role is responsible for project setup, cost tracking, budget variance analysis, and driving the invoicing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Project setup, budgeting, and subcontract/PO issuance
- Manage change orders and billing processes
- Prepare monthly pay applications and T&M tickets
- Monitor project costs and communicate variances
- Review billing reports to ensure timely invoicing
- Support audits and collaborate with accounting team
- Approve AP invoices (as assigned)
Requirements
- 2–4 years of accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines independently
Preferred
- Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
- Construction industry experience (3 years)
- Familiarity with Vista (Viewpoint) and Procore
