Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including commercial air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose system issues accurately.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) equipment using specialized tools such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure HVAC systems operate at peak performance and comply with safety standards.
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and mechanical systems repair techniques to complete installations and repairs efficiently.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems including refrigeration units and plumbing components related to HVAC operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining system issues clearly and offering practical solutions to clients.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of inspections, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance reports.
- Ensure all work complies with local codes and EPA regulations for refrigerants handling and environmental safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in mechanical systems repair and installation.
- Service technician experience in HVAC or related fields such as appliance repair or property maintenance.
- Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, building automation systems, electrical systems, and HVAC design principles.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting up to 75 ton rtu or refrigeration units.
- Mechanical knowledge of boilers, air conditioning units, plumbing systems, electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; welding experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record;
driver certification preferred. - Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or mechanical systems are advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Experience working with building automation systems (BAS) or similar control systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments requiring physical stamina and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
