We’re currently looking for a reliable, energetic School Age Assistant Teacher who can confidently guide children, set boundaries, and handle the ups and downs that come with this age group—all while keeping things fun and engaging!

Responsibilities
- Help lead activities for school-age children (arts & crafts, games, outdoor play)
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies
- Work closely with children to foster social skills, emotional regulation, and independence through individualized attention and group activities
- Help prepare educational materials and classroom resources to enhance learning experiences
- Supervise children during activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom events
- Maintaining continuing education
- Finish childcare coursework within first 6 months of hire date.
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be 18 or older
- Previous experience working with children (daycare, school, babysitting, camps, etc.) strongly preferred for this age group. But not a must for others so still apply if you’re looking to get into childcare.
- Ability to manage behaviors in a calm, respectful, and consistent way
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly in the moment
- Ability to stay calm and professional during challenging situations
- Willingness to learn and take direction from lead teachers
- Ability to meet state licensing requirements (background check, etc.)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Childcare coursework or early childhood education is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, students, and families
