What are the responsibilities and job description for the Performance Creative Strategist position at Beam?
Performance Creative Strategist (Paid Social)
About the Role:
We are looking for a Performance Creative Strategist who combines the analytical brain of a media buyer with the storytelling instincts of a copywriter.
Reporting directly to our Senior Creative Director, you will be the architect of our creative testing roadmap. Your job is not to "make things look pretty." Your job is to analyze why an ad is working (or failing), hypothesize new angles, and write the detailed briefs that empower our design team to produce winning assets for Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok.
What You Will Do:
- Translate raw data and marketing goals into clear, actionable Creative Briefs for our video editors and graphic designers.
- Support the creation of high-performing scripts, hooks, and headlines. You understand the difference between a "brand story" and a direct-response "hook" that stops the scroll in the first 3 seconds.
- Partner with the Paid Social Lead to define the weekly Creative Testing Agenda.
- Innovate on testing methodologies. You won't just test "Video A vs. Video B." You will design tests for specific variables: Visual Hooks, Value Props, Text Overlays, and CTAs.
- Identify "Creative Fatigue" before it happens and have the next round of iterations ready to launch.
- Lead the weekly "Creative Review" meeting. You will present a breakdown of creative metrics (Thumb-Stop Ratio, Hold Rate, Click-Through Rate, Conversion Rate).
- Turn insights into action. If a video has a high hold rate but low clicks, you are the one who writes the brief to fix the CTA.
- Build and maintain a "Swipe File" of competitor ads and trending formats on TikTok and Meta. You are the team's eyes on the ground for what is currently working in the market.
Who You Are:
- 2-4 years in a creative strategy, copywriting, or performance marketing role within DTC Ecommerce or an Agency.
- Comfortable looking at a spreadsheet in Excel to find the winner, but you are equally comfortable writing a storyboard for a video editor.
- You understand the psychology of selling. You know frameworks like AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) and PAS (Problem, Agitation, Solution).
- You know the difference between a Reel, a Story, and a Feed post. You understand "safe zones" and native platform aesthetics.
- You can manage high volumes of creative requests and keep the feedback loop between buyers and designers moving fast.
Bonus:
- Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Canva, Premiere) to create "Frankenstein" edits or mockups for the design team.
- Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini) to speed up ideation and storyboarding.
