Job Summary
We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Dental Assistant to support our clinical team and help create a smooth, efficient, and comfortable experience for patients. This role is ideal for someone who has a solid foundation of chairside skills and can work semi-independently under the supervision of a dentist or lead dental assistant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with general dental procedures, including fillings, crowns, extractions, and sealants
- Take bitewing, PA, and FMX radiographs following safety protocols
- Take alginate impressions and fabricate temporary crowns under supervision
- Set up anesthetic trays, assist with rubber dam and matrix band placement
- Ensure operatories and instruments are clean and properly sterilized according to OSHA & infection control standards
- Provide clear pre- and post-treatment instructions to patients
- Keep patients comfortable and reassured throughout their visit
- Accurately chart patient information in the EMR system
- Monitor and restock clinical supplies
- Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, and the front office to ensure smooth daily operations
Required Skills and Certifications
- NJ X-Ray license (Radiography certification)
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum 6 months of experience as a dental assistant
- Must have experience assisting with orthodontic procedures, including taking orthodontic records (photos and impressions), assisting with bracket and band placement, and changing wires under supervision.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, patient-first approach
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Physically able to assist patients and perform clinical tasks (standing, lifting, etc.)
Preferred Skills
- EFDA certification
- Experience monitoring nitrous oxide
- Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend or similar EMR software
- Comfortable using office tools like tablets, smartphones, and general equipment
