Location: Richmond, VA 23219 - onsite at least three days per week
Duration: 3 months (Possibility of extension)
The IT Business Analyst II supports VDH technology initiatives by gathering requirements, mapping processes, documenting workflows, and coordinating with business and technical teams. This role ensures clear communication, accurate documentation, and smooth execution of IT projects. Candidates should be analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a dynamic, multi‑team environment.
• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
• Facilitate requirement‑gathering meetings and workshops.
• Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items.
• Support requirement prioritization and refinement with product owners and technical leads.
• Create and update process flows in Visio.
• Document current‑state and future‑state workflows.
• Produce clear SOPs, reference guides, and operational documentation.
• Support standardization and process‑improvement efforts.
• Track tasks, deliverables, and dependencies in portfolio tools.
• Document meeting notes, decisions, and action items.
• Assist with testing activities and UAT coordination.
• Support change management, communications, and training materials.
• Maintain dashboards and reports for leadership.
• Coordinate between business partners, IT teams, and leadership.
• Communicate requirements, decisions, and project updates clearly.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding for project resources.
• Support procurement documentation and technical input.
• Gather and validate data for reporting or decision‑making.
• Experience with requirements gathering and documentation.
• Proficiency with Visio, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with workflow or project tools like ServiceNow or Azure DevOps.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with process mapping or IT project support.
• Experience in IT or public health environments.
• Strong skills in ServiceNow, SharePoint, Azure DevOps, or Power BI.
• Knowledge of SDLC or Agile practices.

Compensation:
Compensation for roles at Beacon Systems Inc depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, BeaconGov provides reasonable range of compensation for this role.
