Position Summary:
The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the oversight, development, and execution of all market specific clinical programs within the organization. This includes implementation of core standards of clinical care, crisis intervention, staff training, compliance monitoring, collaborating and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and financial management of clinical operations. The role ensures that individuals supported receive high-quality, evidence-based care in compliance with Medicaid, state, and federal regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises Clinicians and Behavior Specialists, as well as the Assistant Director Role if applicable.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Vice President of Clinical Operations to ensure implementation of a best-in-class, evidenced based behavioral health and clinical model across the state.
  • Promote “One Team” across the state, where medical, clinical, and our operation’s teams work together to achieve the highest quality of care and support possible.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the clinical behavioral health team, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective systems to support individuals with intellectual disabilities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, county, and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure standards of care surrounding acuity measuring, staffing caseloads, service type and frequency and safety monitoring are being adhered to.
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams and work as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring coordinated, person-centered care across services.
  • Develop and grow the capacity of the program according to the strategic goals of the company
  • Participate in budget management, and operational oversight to enhance service delivery and financial sustainability.
  • Oversight of crisis prevention and intervention response to ensure effectiveness. This includes working with the larger Beacon Care Team, law enforcement, mobile crisis services, community mental health agencies and hospital systems to engage in pre-planning activities, coordination of care, post-crisis stabilization and assistance with transitions of care from the program to other services and supports.
  • Develop and implement crisis stabilization plans and provide direct crisis intervention and risk assessment as necessary.
  • Oversee the provision of therapeutic interventions to ensure quality, consistency and appropriateness for the level of acuity identified.
  • Provide oversight to ensure that all individualized support plans are clear, accurate, and tailored to each supported individual’s needs, while identifying precursors and antecedents related to high acuity behaviors.
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and external behavioral health providers, including Medicaid-funded services if applicable.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, including behavioral specialists, therapists, and crisis intervention professionals. Provide consultation to other care team members as requested.
  • Develop, oversee and implement interdisciplinary care team trainings on behavioral interventions, crisis management, therapeutic best-practices and other staff development topics as identified.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and Medicaid requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by the state, oversee audits, and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Attend and actively participate in licensing reviews, accreditation visits, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Monitor clinical program budgets, including Medicaid billing, expense tracking, and revenue generation.
  • Ensure all documentation meets Medicaid reimbursement requirements, including behavior plans and crisis intervention documentation.
  • Provide strategic insights into the growth and expansion of clinical programs.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Analysis, or a related field.
  • Licensed and credentialed to manage clinical staff; BCBA certification preferred; LPC, LCSW, or LMFT accepted.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in behavioral health leadership, including managing high acuity or crisis services, developing and supervising behavior support plans for individuals with disabilities and supervising clinical teams.
  • Approved by the state, federal, and local governmental entities to work within BSLS programs.
  • Maintains own mandatory training and certification requirements.
  • Required experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language required.
  • Team player capable of working well with all levels of the organization.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Hybrid work environment with corporate office presence and regional travel. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:
Occasional travel 25-30% or as otherwise determined by the needs of the market to support BSLS locations.
