Duties
- Thoroughly wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations and ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and prep work under supervision
- Support the bussing of tables by clearing used dishes and ensuring dining areas remain tidy throughout service
- Follow food safety standards and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination and uphold health regulations
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and supplies while adhering to proper ergonomic practices for safety
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
