What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian/Janitor position at Beacon Inc.?
Beacon is looking for a Janitor/Custodian to take care of our day center for people experiencing extreme poverty by performing cleaning and maintenance. The hours are 4pm to 9pm. Beacon is a mission-driven nonprofit that works with struggling people. Applicants must support that mission and recognize that keeping a maintained building and landscape is essential to reducing stigma for people experiencing homelessness.
Responsibilities
- Clean story building (floor care, restrooms & showers, taking out trash, disinfecting surfaces, etc.)
- Clean up trash outside on property and surrounding properties
- Perform and document routine maintenance activities
- Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects, as assigned
- Notify management of need for repairs and supplies to be ordered
- Follow all health and safety regulations
Skills
- Proven working experience as a janitor
- Ability to handle cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Integrity and ability to work independently; trustworthiness.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.66 per hour
