Case Manager

Beacon is a Bloomington-based nonprofit that tackles some of the most important and challenging social and economic issues in our area, including extreme poverty, hunger, and homelessness.

Beacon seeks to fill a full-time (40 hours/week) Case manager at Beacon's day center, Shalom Center.

The full-time Crisis Case Manager at our Day Center supports our work with adults experiencing extreme poverty, especially people experiencing homelessness. The Case Manager will do responsive case management including conducting assessments, identifying and accessing resources, and developing case plan goals with guests; crisis intervention, including the ability to remain calm in emotionally difficult situations and to de-escalate behaviors; and management of compliance paperwork. The work will be based at the Shalom Center.

Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social services. 2 years working directly with individuals who have a serious mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorder. Case management experience.

Required: One year of experience working directly with vulnerable populations such as individuals experiencing homelessness or adults with disabilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Intermediate proficiency in computer skills. Must have a driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
