Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our Beacon House team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in our facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all guests and staff. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning, maintenance, and overall facility upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
- Conduct floor care activities to ensure floors are well-maintained and presentable.
- Carry out grounds duties including snow removal and grass cutting.
- Execute commercial cleaning duties in various settings, adhering to established cleaning protocols.
- Assist with facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs promptly.
- Engage in industrial cleaning practices when required, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Serve as a porter by managing the movement of supplies, equipment and garbage/cardboard throughout the facility.
- Maintain an organized storage area for cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper inventory levels.
- Transport guests and supplies as needed to hospital or other local locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in custodial or cleaning roles, with a strong understanding of cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Familiarity with cleaning machines and floor care products is preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning standards and practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
