Payroll Specialist

Beacon Hill is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support a growing HRIS and Payroll team. This role is responsible for processing multi-state payroll, conducting payroll audits, resolving payroll discrepancies, administering payroll corrections, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting large employee populations in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering accurate and timely payroll services.

• Pay Rate: $30-$35/hr
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Work Arrangement: office

• Process biweekly multi-state payroll for a workforce of approximately 600-1,000 employees
• Audit payroll data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance requirements
• Calculate and process retroactive pay adjustments, overpayments, partial pay, and other payroll corrections
• Investigate and resolve employee payroll discrepancies and payment issues
• Review and process employee timesheets and payroll-related changes
• Prepare and process quarterly commission payrolls, bonus payrolls, and PTO payouts
• Generate payroll reports and maintain supporting payroll documentation
• Administer 401(k) contributions, deductions, and related payroll updates
• Collaborate with HRIS and HR teams to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing
• Support payroll compliance activities and internal payroll audits

• 2 years of payroll processing experience
• Experience processing multi-state payrolls
• Strong understanding of payroll audits, compliance, and payroll regulations
• Experience handling payroll corrections, retroactive pay adjustments, and payroll discrepancy resolution
• Ability to process payroll accurately in a high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management abilities
• Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
