What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Maintenance/Laborer position at Beacon Group?
BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 2,000 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist nearly two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. POSITION INTRODUCTION: Grounds Maintenance and Labor Position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all ground maintenance assignments meet contractual standards.
- Maintain all safety standards.
- Monitor all job related supplies and equipment. Ensure all equipment is maintained properly and in good working order.
- Work with Supervisor/Job Coach to resolve all ground maintenance issues. This includes addressing customer concerns and assisting the Supervisor/Job Coach to quickly resolve issues.
- Perform all ground maintenance duties as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Job Coach.
- Attend regular safety meeting and trainings to maintain a safe working environment for the customer and employees.
- Must comply with heat/sun precautions and that all personnel wear required clothing and footwear while at worksite.
- Dress Code Long work/denim pants, long sleeve shirt, steel toe/puncture resistant boots.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in working in outside environment helpful but not necessary. We will train all accepted applicants.
- Ability to balance, bend, stand, walk, kneel, twist, stretch, climb and sit.
- Ability to use hand or related equipment grabbers, hula hoe, shovel.
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work effectively with the public.
- Ability to tolerate environmental conditions, such as hot, cold, wetness, dust, noise, etc.
WORK HOURS AND SCHEDULE: This is a part time position.
