A Quality Engineer in the aerospace industry North of Boston, is responsible for ensuring that products meet stringent quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. Key responsibilities typically include:

  • Compliance Assurance: Ensuring adherence to industry standards such as AS9100C and ISO9001, as well as customer-specific quality requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Leading initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, utilizing methodologies like 8D and 5 Whys for root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Inspection and Testing: Designing and analyzing inspection processes, conducting product quality tests, and performing statistical analyses to identify and address non-conformities.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues, support new product introductions, and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Supplier Management: Monitoring supplier performance, conducting audits, and collaborating with suppliers to address quality concerns and implement improvements.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate quality records, preparing reports, and supporting audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

Candidates typically hold a bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline and have 2-3 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably within aerospace manufacturing. Proficiency in quality management systems, familiarity with inspection tools like Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and strong problem-solving skills are essential.
