What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Technician position at Beacon Credit Union?
Note: Based on candidate fit, we will consider headquarters at Beacon office locations outside of Wabash. Travel to Beacon locations throughout Indiana will be regularly required as on-site maintenance, repairs, projects, and other position demands dictate. This employee should be able to provide his or her own basic tools needed to perform the job functions and have a valid driver's license. A company vehicle is standardly provided.
Role
Responsible for the general maintenance and orderliness of Beacon facilities and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation and safety.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes assigned work orders for maintenance and repairs to Beacon facilities and systems while adhering to all safety standards, policies & procedures, codes of conduct and best practices.
- Assists Facilities Manager in establishing, maintaining, and conducting inspections of all equipment and buildings.
- Assists with controlling expenses associated with the operation of the buildings.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Experience
One to three years of experience in building trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry).
Education
A high school diploma or HSE. Technical school training in maintenance related courses is preferred.

Working Conditions: Work is performed indoors in an office environment and outdoors around company facilities with potential for exposure to safety and health hazards. Employee may be exposed to dust and dirt while performance maintenance functions. At times, the employee may be working in environments that are under construction. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee will regularly travel to other, similar sites. Employee may occasionally work extended hours, including overnight, to ensure proper system functionality.
Standard position hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, a flexible work schedule is required as some projects require evening and weekends outside of normal hours of operation and this person will work a large geographic area.
