Job Overview
Beacon Community Care is seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Support Specialists to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide in-home support and community-based services to individuals who need assistance with daily living, health needs, and independent living goals.
This is a hands-on, meaningful position where you will build strong relationships, promote independence, and make a real impact in your community.
What You’ll Do
Daily Living & Home Support
- Prepare meals based on dietary needs
- Assist with grocery shopping and errands
- Perform light housekeeping (cleaning, laundry, organizing)
Health & Wellness Support
- Schedule and coordinate medical appointments
- Provide transportation to and from appointments
- Monitor and report changes in client health
Mobility & Personal Assistance
- Assist with transfers (wheelchairs, vehicles, etc.)
- Support use of mobility aids
Companionship & Supervision
- Provide supervision and companionship
- Offer emotional support and engagement
- Support clients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or mental health needs
Transportation & Community Access
- Drive clients to appointments and activities
- Support community involvement and independence
Housing & Independence Support (IHS housing goal clients only)
- Assist clients with housing applications and searches
- Help with moving and transitioning into independent living
Respite & Backup Care
- Provide relief support for caregivers as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in home care, long-term care, or assisted living preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with:
- Developmental disabilities (Autism, ADHD, TBI, etc.)
- Mental health conditions (Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder)
- Alzheimer’s or dementia
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Ability to lift and assist clients when needed
- Comfortable working in homes with pets
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle (required)
- Current car insurance (required)

- Individualized Community Living Supports (ICLS)

- Respite care
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
