What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anthrozoology Lab Manager position at Beacon College?
The Anthrozoology Lab Manager will act as the primary caretaker of the animals in Anthrozoology Lab 1, 2, and the Second St. Classroom. This position will manage animal care duties, supervise the Animal Care Team, and mentor animal care interns.
DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Provide animal care throughout the school year and over school breaks
- Responsible for maintaining animal health and well-being
- Responsible for managing inventory and acquiring required materials
- Assist in training & supporting student employees and interns
- Assist in supporting & supervising animal care routines
- Responsible for the organization and maintenance of the anthrozoology lab
- Responsible for maintaining animal collection records
- Collaborate closely with the Chair of the Anthrozoology Department on matters related to animal care, health, and the animal care budget, among other topics
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
- Proven experience in the care of a variety of animal species

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and responsibilities
