Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepares IV chemotherapy and pre-medications.
- Dispenses chemotherapy and other IV medications to our patients and supports our medically integrated dispensary.
- Maintains accurate and organized records of medications, supplies and transactions.
- Ensures physician orders are processed in a timely manner.
- Helps manage inventory and anticipates medication and supply needs.
- Assists with grants, prior authorizations, and insurance eligibility and verification.
- Displays professionalism and has great customer service and communication skills.
- Complies with all applicable procedures, rules and regulations and adheres to health and safety policies and protocols.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Communication: You will have to act as a liaison for regulatory agencies and you must also be able to generate verbal and written reports of your observations.
- Ethics: This position requires that you are able to uphold the code of ethics in regard to medical science and human subjects.
- Team Player: You must work well with others during conversations, projects, meetings, or other collaborations. This skill is dependent on your ability to communicate well, actively listen, be responsible and honest.
- Experience in sterile compounding required, chemotherapy experience strongly preferred
- Must be capable of wearing the required PPE during compounding activities.
Education:
- Sterile Compounding experience strongly preferred
- Pharmacy technician experience required
- Medical oncology terminology and experience preferred
- Idaho pharmacy technician license, required upon hire
- Certified pharmacy technician, earned by 6 months of employment
