ACADEMIC INTERVENTION SERVICES TEACHER (READING AND MATH)

Duties and Responsibilities:
The District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and collaborative Academic Intervention Services (AIS) Teacher to provide targeted academic support to Grade 6 students in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. The requirements and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide direct intervention services to students identified for AIS in reading and mathematics.
- Deliver evidence-based, small-group, and individualized instruction aligned with grade-level standards and student needs.
- Utilize assessment data, including state, district, and classroom measures, to identify student
- learning needs and inform instructional planning.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with core instruction and support student achievement.
- Monitor and document student progress through ongoing formative and summative assessments.
- Participate in MTSS/RTI meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions regarding student interventions and supports.
- Maintain accurate records of student services, progress monitoring data, and communication with families.
- Support students in developing academic confidence, organizational skills, and effective learning habits.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and intervention goals.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities and district initiatives related to literacy, mathematics, intervention practices, and student support services.
- Collaborate with school counselors, special education staff, and other support personnel to ensure coordinated services for students.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid New York State Teaching Certification in one or more of the following:
- Childhood Education (Grades 1-6)
- Literacy (Birth-Grade 6)
- Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and strategies
Preferred:
- Special Education Certification, experience in AIS, MTSS-I, or remedial instruction.
- Experience with middle-level mathematics intervention programs and progress-monitoring tools.
NYS Certification Required, Compensation Per BTA Contract
