We are seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our outpatient team in Vicksburg, Mississippi. This role is ideal for a therapist who values patient-centered care, strong therapeutic relationships, and collaboration with other behavioral health professionals.
Position Overview
This is a fully outpatient position with no inpatient responsibilities. The Licensed Professional Counselor will provide therapy to patients experiencing a variety of emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns. The therapist will conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based counseling, and collaborate with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other members of the outpatient treatment team.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct outpatient clinical assessments and evaluate each patient’s behavioral health needs.
Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and progress.
Provide individual, family, and/or group counseling as clinically appropriate.
Use evidence-based therapeutic approaches to address depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, relationship concerns, life transitions, and other behavioral health conditions.
Establish supportive and professional therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans when clinically appropriate.
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, therapists, and other members of the outpatient treatment team.
Coordinate care with families, healthcare providers, schools, and community resources when appropriate and authorized.
Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis intervention when clinically necessary.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all professional, ethical, organizational, and regulatory standards.
Participate in treatment-team meetings, case consultations, and other practice activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
Current, unrestricted Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the State of Mississippi.
Strong clinical assessment, treatment-planning, counseling, and documentation skills.
Knowledge of professional ethics, patient confidentiality, and applicable behavioral health regulations.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative outpatient clinical team.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience providing outpatient behavioral health services.
Experience treating patients with a variety of mental health conditions.
Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary psychiatric treatment team.
Experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and/or families.
Familiarity with electronic health record documentation.
