Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using Toast, processing sales transactions efficiently.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Upsell menu items, including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Manage cash handling accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change.
- Assist with setting up tables, bussing, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Provide excellent guest relations by addressing questions, special requests, and resolving any concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and maintain smooth service flow.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, including wine knowledge and cocktail recipes, to assist guests effectively.
Requirements
- Previous food service experience in restaurants or hospitality environments is preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Toast POS systems.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices required for safe food handling.
- Ability to process cash transactions accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for order calculations and billing purposes.
- Experience with beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail preparation, and drink service techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed in a lively restaurant or nightclub setting.
