What are the responsibilities and job description for the Club Volleyball Coach position at Beach South Volleyball Club?
Job Summary
Beach South Volleyball Club is seeking coaches for our beach and indoor volleyball programs. Coaches are responsible for adopting and implementing the Beach South ‘way’ of training and developing players, creating game strategies, fostering teamwork, and encouraging sportsmanship among athletes.
The successful candidate must obtain IMPACT certification, SafeSport certification, register with Carolina Region and USA volleyball. A few select coaches will require an additional AAU membership.
Indoor Program: Tryouts (July – October) Full Season (November – June)
Beach Program: November – June
Job Type: This is a part-time opportunity with a time commitment of between 5 and 10 hours a week.
Travel Commitment: National team and Beach coaches will be expected to participate in practices 2 – 3 times per week with periodic out-of-state travel for weekend tournaments. Regional or Elite team coaches are expected to participate in practice twice a week and attend in-state tournaments that are generally slated for one day of the weekend.
Job Description: The successful candidate must
· Demonstrate an aptitude for training and development as illustrated by teaching fundamental volleyball skills, techniques, and strategies to athletes.
· Demonstrate the ability to strategize by analyzing opponents and adjusting tactics to maximize performance thereby teaching athletes how to win.
· Demonstrate and accept the club’s coaching philosophy through the commitment to follow the practice plans and approaches presented by Beach South leadership while actively engaging in the development of plans that increase player skillset.
· Strong leadership skills that ensure each player is prepared for competitions and embody the ability to provide support to players, on and off the court.
· Mentor athletes by helping them set goals and foster a positive team environment where expectations, feedback, and open communications regarding team progress and individual development are encouraged.
· Maintain proper control and discipline in a positive manner by establishing good, wholesome rapport through healthy, professional relationships with athletes involved in our program.
· Proactively work with other Beach South coaches and leadership team to ensure athletes are maintained in a safe environment, only engaging with personnel who are Safe Sport certified.
