Role Description The Senior Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami, FL, responsible for leading interior design projects from concept through completion. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing design concepts, creating mood boards and presentations, selecting finishes, furniture, and materials, and preparing detailed drawings and specifications. The Senior Designer will collaborate with clients to understand their needs, present design solutions, and incorporate feedback throughout the project. This role also involves coordinating with contractors, vendors, and fabricators, overseeing project timelines, and ensuring design quality and consistency with the studio’s aesthetic. The Senior Designer will mentor junior designers, contribute to studio standards, and help maintain a well-organized library of materials and resources.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in residential interior design, including concept development, space planning, and selection of finishes, furniture, and accessories.
- Proficiency with design and documentation tools such as AutoCAD, Revit or similar, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) for presentations and drawings.
- Strong project management skills, including ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with contractors and vendors, and track schedules and budgets.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts, respond to feedback, and collaborate in a professional, service-oriented manner.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics, color, texture, and proportion, aligned with high-end residential design standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working on-site during installation phases, including styling, quality checks, and problem-solving in the field.
- Knowledge of industry trends, materials, and suppliers, particularly within luxury residential and Miami/Caribbean markets.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a small studio team, mentor junior staff, and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment.
