Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our pediatric integratice practice. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following established protocols, including IV infusions and medication administration for acute pain management and chronic conditions.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results; support imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable.
- Support complex procedures including catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, ventilator management, and ostomy care within sterile environments following aseptic techniques.
- Monitor patients' physiological parameters in various settings including ICU, emergency room, surgical units, long-term care facilities, and hospice environments; provide critical care and trauma medicine as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge planning strategies, case management plans, and health coaching tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations; ensure compliance with NCQA standards and ICD coding requirements such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 for billing and recordkeeping.
- Participate in infection control practices to prevent healthcare-associated infections; uphold safety standards during procedures like sterile processing or critical care transport.
- Provide specialized care for populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, patients with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs; support behavioral health initiatives when appropriate.
Experience
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), outpatient clinics, emergency rooms, or long-term care facilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for documentation and order entry.
- Experience administering injections, IV insertions, phlebotomy or specimen collection/processing in clinical settings.
- Background in acute care specialties such as ICU, trauma medicine, cardiac catheterization units or surgical centers is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with advanced procedures including spinal taps, gastroscopy or dialysis support enhances your candidacy.
- Knowledge of infectious disease care protocols and infection control standards essential for maintaining a safe environment.
- Prior work with vulnerable populations such as pediatric patients (neonatal ventilator use), seniors requiring memory or Alzheimer’s/Dementia care or individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred; ongoing professional development encouraged to stay current on medical terminology and CPT coding standards.
