As a co-stylist, your number one role in the salon is to enhance the guest experience and to support team members. This position is to ensure that stylist schedules are maximized and assist in making sure each client feels well taken care of. Manage time, schedules, and guests and helping with general flow in the salon. Responsibilities
This is primarily a learning experience for entry-level talent looking to grow in the industry, so you will be expected to be with your stylist most of the time. You will learn from listening to your stylist consult with clients learning strong communication skills and how to build relationships. You will be expected to help with color formulation and understanding the law of color. Expectations will also include applying toner and evaluating when lightener has reached desired level. The stylist will be dependent on you to manage each guest’s timing for color. Acceptable measures are phone time and physical timer. You will be expected to watch the stylist doing haircuts for your own benefit. You will need to be very comfortable with both shampooing as well as finishing guests by completing blow drying, styling, flat iron, or curling as instructed by the stylist.
Other responsibilities include but not limited to: General salon cleaning, laundry, helping other stylists, general knowledge of front desk operations including Mangomint appointment booking, answering the phone, and email or texting services.
Qualifications
A high-school diploma or currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a cosmetology program.
