Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage landscape maintenance crews, ensuring efficient execution of lawn care, planting, pruning, and hardscape installation projects.
- Oversee snow removal operations, including plowing, shoveling, de-icing, and ensuring safe access during winter weather conditions.
- Coordinate with clients and team members to plan and execute construction projects related to landscaping and outdoor improvements.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively, including mowers, trimmers, irrigation systems, and hardscape tools.
- Manage irrigation systems to optimize water use and plant health; troubleshoot irrigation issues promptly.
- Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and ground cover to maintain healthy landscapes; perform horticultural tasks with precision.
- Lead team management efforts by training crew members on equipment operation, safety protocols, and landscaping techniques while fostering a positive work environment.
- Maintain detailed records of project progress, equipment maintenance, safety inspections, and client communications.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations during outdoor work activities; promote a culture of safety among team members.
Experience
- Proven experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening with a strong understanding of horticulture principles.
- Supervising experience leading outdoor crews in landscaping or groundskeeping environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of irrigation management systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Construction experience related to outdoor projects such as hardscape installation or site preparation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tree care practices and grounds maintenance equipment operation is essential.
- Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions with a focus on safety and efficiency.
