Role Overview BDR is seeking a motivated Line Lead to oversee production lines responsible for picking and packing orders for shipment. Acting as a critical link between warehouse leadership and the floor staff, the Line Lead supports Shift Supervisors and Program Managers with ensuring efficient warehouse operations. You will support training and assigning tasks to designated lines and staff members, ensuring workflow efficiency and safety, while simultaneously performing the core logistical duties of a Material Coordinator. You will serve as the communication conduit between staff, Shift Supervisors, the Program Manager (PM), and the Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) Staff regarding daily operations on your line. This is a non-exempt, SCA-covered role. The Line Lead functions as a senior member of the team providing task-level coordination and hands-on support. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Line Management Team Lead: Serve as the senior role over designated production lines and warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to schedules and safety protocols. Provide day-to-day direction to staff working on the line in accordance with supervisor instructions. Workflow Prioritization: Distribute orders to staff based on priority levels to ensure critical shipments are processed first. Communication: Serve as the communication conduit for VA staff, Shift Supervisors, and the Program Manager; Support PM/ Supervisors in team meetings as necessary to align on goals and updates. Performance & Safety: Support PM/ Supervisors in monitoring staff performance and safety compliance. Immediately report work performance issues, safety concerns, or reasonable suspicion of impairment to the Shift Supervisor and/ or PM. Warehouse Operations (Hands-On) Inventory Control: Perform cycle counts, audits, and track inventory in the VA’s Inventory Management System (IMS); investigate and report discrepancies. Order Fulfillment: actively participate in picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment alongside your team. Material Handling: Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load/unload materials; ensure equipment is used safely and efficiently. Requirements:Required Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations. Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Clearance: US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Required Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to lead a team and prioritize tasks under pressure. Basic math proficiency. Physical & Environmental Requirements Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly. Mobility: Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Environment: Ability to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures year round Equipment: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods while operating a vehicle or material handling equipment. Desired Skills Prior experience supporting government contracts (specifically Dept. of Veterans Affairs) Forklift Operator Certification Previous team lead or supervisory experience in a logistics setting
