The Carrier Implementation Manager is responsible for overseeing carrier contract management, pricing analysis, and system administration across key transportation platforms. This role ensures accurate rate implementation, maintains pricing integrity, supports procurement strategy, and drives continuous system and process improvements across various internal platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Carrier Contract Management & Pricing
- Analyze carrier proposals to identify gaps, discrepancies, and missing information; partner with Procurement leadership to resolve issues.
- Load, maintain, and validate carrier rate schedules, accessorials, and fuel tables.
- Conduct rate testing to ensure accuracy prior to production release.
- Manage carrier communications, contract documentation, and execution workflows via project management tools.
- Track pricing submissions, approvals, and implementation status.
- Support pricing negotiations and carrier strategy development.
Pricing Analysis & Reporting
- Perform pricing analysis using system tools and Excel-based models.
- Develop and present rate analyses to Procurement leadership.
- Identify pricing discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrections.
- Generate ad-hoc reports for internal stakeholders and customers.
- Support client-specific pricing initiatives, including net rate file generation.
Project Management & Workflow Coordination
- Manage pricing workflows and tasks within project management tools (e.g., Teamwork).
- Document updates, decisions, and communication between stakeholders.
- Lead recurring meetings to resolve pricing issues and drive accountability.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, IT, and Account Management teams.
Carrier Data & SOP Management
- Maintain carrier master data across systems and CRM platforms.
- Develop and update SOPs related to pricing, negotiations, and issue resolution.
- Partner with operations and account teams on client-specific SOPs.
- Maintain facility profiles and carrier information to support procurement.
Systems Administration
- Act as system administrator and subject matter expert for internal pricing systems.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and document system updates and requirements.
- Create and execute testing scenarios, including UAT.
- Manage system backlogs and coordinate enhancements with IT.
- Test, validate, and implement new features into production.
- Train users and develop supporting documentation.
- Provide feedback to improve system performance and functionality.
Systems Administration
- Administer TMS system, including user management, permissions, and system configuration.
- Maintain operational settings, master data, and planning parameters.
- Configure workspaces, layouts, dashboards, and saved searches.
- Manage routing guides, rate uploads, and associated pricing components.
- Test rates and ensure system accuracy.
- Support customer implementations and workflow setup.
- Develop training materials and provide post-implementation support.
- Manage ticketing workflows and resolve system-related issues.
Process Improvement & Operations Support
- Identify and implement process improvements across pricing and system workflows.
- Support automation initiatives and system integrations where applicable.
- Provide ongoing user support, troubleshooting, and training.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational and financial workflows.
