Duties And Responsibilities
- Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Occasionally produces engineering document, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics)
- Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis
- Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks including conditioning samples, testing, failure investigation, test method development and validation, etc..
- Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications
- Works with team to on general lab functions; including calibration, equipment maintenance, implementation of safety procedures,
- Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect project
- Helps develop prototype processes and test set-ups
- Handles test specimens, equipment, and chemicals used for conditioning/testing
- Executes designed test protocol and conducts conditioning and testing using applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Trains and mentors junior team members on lab procedures and equipment use
- Effectively documents and communicates test results and completion status
- Follows BD policies and lab procedures
- Preferred requirement: Bachelor of Science in a technical area and at least 1 year of experience in a laboratory/R&D setting following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.
- Minimum requirement is high school diploma, and 6 years of experience in a lab environment (corporate or school).
- The ability to work effectively in a cross functional group and communicate effectively with the lab team and extended team members
- Develops solutions to technical problems of limited scope
- Proficiency in personal computers
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products
