Job Responsibilities
- Assist with engineering assignments related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Apply engineering principles to troubleshoot and improve production operations.
- Support documentation efforts, including initiating and revising technical documents and tracking approvals.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
- Provide technical support on components, materials, and manufacturing methods.
- Assist an engineering project leader by completing technical tasks such as design and solid modeling, coordinating purchasing or assembly of components, and implementing improvements using standard validation processes.
- Act as an engineering representative for Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams. Intern will help the TPM team identify, isolate, and solve reoccurring production problems.
- Analyze design inputs and prepare written and oral project updates.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and recommend solutions for process optimization.
- Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.
- Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
- Maintain professional working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
- Ability to commute to Sumter, SC.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and ability to apply them in a practical setting.
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion360, AutoCad) and basic product design concepts.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to perform testing using written instructions and comprehend basic descriptive statistics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic software applications.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Oral and written presentation skills.

- False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and Jewelry is not allowed on the production floor including dermals. Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor.
- Shoes are required to be Steel Toe and non-slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
