About the Opportunity
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and hands-on Vice President of Third-Party Property Management to lead the growth and operational excellence of our expanding third-party management platform.
This is not a traditional corporate oversight role. We are looking for a proven property management leader who thrives in the field, enjoys building teams, creating systems, and partnering directly with property owners to drive results.
As we continue to expand our third-party management portfolio across multiple states, this executive will be responsible for leading property transitions, developing regional teams, establishing operating standards, and serving as the primary operational liaison between ownership groups and our management organization.
The ideal candidate combines executive-level leadership with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and help build a scalable platform from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Growth & Property Transitions
- Lead operational onboarding and transition of newly awarded third-party management assignments.
- Develop and execute transition plans that ensure seamless property takeovers.
- Evaluate staffing, operational processes, vendor relationships, and compliance requirements during acquisitions and management transitions.
- Partner with executive leadership on growth initiatives and new business opportunities.
Operations Leadership
- Establish and implement operational standards, policies, and best practices across the portfolio.
- Conduct regular property visits, audits, and performance reviews.
- Monitor key performance indicators including occupancy, collections, resident satisfaction, expense management, and NOI growth.
- Ensure consistent execution of company standards across geographically diverse markets.
Team Building & Leadership
- Recruit, develop, and mentor regional and on-site property management teams.
- Evaluate existing team structures and build scalable organizational processes.
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and customer service.
- Collaborate closely with existing team members while helping build future organizational capacity.
Ownership & Client Relations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for ownership groups and investment partners.
- Deliver operational, financial, and strategic updates to clients.
- Build trusted relationships through responsiveness, transparency, and execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve asset performance and enhance client satisfaction.
Financial Performance
- Review budgets, forecasts, and operating performance across the portfolio.
- Drive revenue growth and expense management initiatives.
- Partner with accounting and asset management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and accountability.
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive multifamily property management experience.
- 5 years in senior leadership overseeing multiple assets, regions, or portfolios.
- Demonstrated experience leading property transitions, management takeovers, or portfolio integrations.
- Strong understanding of multifamily operations, budgeting, financial reporting, and team leadership.
- Proven success building and developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication and relationship management skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time across multiple states.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required with equivalent industry experience.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with third-party multifamily management platforms.
- Experience working directly with institutional, private equity, family office, or private ownership groups.
- Multi-state portfolio oversight.
- Experience scaling operations during periods of rapid growth.
