Appearance Attorney – Minor's Compromise

Based in Los Angeles, BD&J is California’s leading personal injury law firm, having recovered over $3 billion for our clients. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Appearance Attorney to join our Minor's Compromise Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to gain meaningful courtroom experience while focusing exclusively on Minor's Compromise hearings.

The ideal candidate is confident in the courtroom, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will work alongside an experienced supervising attorney and a dedicated team of paralegals who will prepare petitions, coordinate with clients, and ensure each matter is ready for hearing. This role allows you to focus on advocacy in court without managing a traditional litigation caseload.

This is a full-time, onsite position based out of our Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities include:

• Represent the firm at Minor's Compromise hearings
• Review petitions and supporting documentation prepared by the Minor's Compromise team prior to court appearances
• Work closely with the supervising attorney to ensure hearings are properly prepared
• Communicate hearing outcomes and any court directives to the litigation team
• Ensure all hearings are handled professionally while providing exceptional client representation
• Maintain case documentation in compliance with legal and firm standards
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure cases move efficiently through the approval process
• Stay current on California laws, court rules, and procedures related to Minor's Compromise matters

Skills & Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active California Bar license
• 1 years of civil litigation experience required
• Personal injury experience preferred but not required
• Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presentation skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail and professionalism
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Salary : $120,000 - $180,000
