What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Engineer position at BCMC?

BCMC is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize of the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services. We are seeking a motivated Network Engineer to implement, maintain and support the lab network infrastructure.Responsibilities:- Leverage advanced analytical and technical skills to design and implement infrastructure solutions that enhance mission execution and support command decision-making.- Support the integration of new technologies and equipment within lab environments, including development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.- Assess network topology and device configurations, identify critical security vulnerabilities, and recommend security best practices.- Provide user support for Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) such as Citrix, as well as MacOS and iOS platforms.- Troubleshoot and resolve a broad range of technical issues, from basic to complex network problems- Implement granular access controls, monitor system performance and accessibility, establish and maintain backup protocols, and ensure system security.- Diagnose and resolve complex enterprise storage issues across local and wide area networks, including replication strategy support and remediation of storage-related incidents.- Design, build, and maintain robust network environments by configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as updating network devices and performing IP address audits.- Ensure optimal network performance by troubleshooting issues, enforcing system standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize infrastructure.- Secure network systems through policy enforcement, access controls, and continuous monitoring.Required Skills:- U.S. Citizenship- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance, TS/SCI clearance is preferred- Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability- 5 years of directly relevant experience in network administration- Proficiency with multiple operating systems, including Linux/Unix and MacOS- Strong knowledge and experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs- Experience and knowledge of networking and network administration- Skilled in working with virtual desktop environments (Citrix, VMware)- Must be able to work collaboratively across physical locationsDesired Skills:- Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switches- Experience with converged infrastructure solutions (e.g., FlexPod) and NetApp storage systems- Proficiency with Cisco Intersight, vCenter, and virtualization automation/optimization- Strong documentation skills for technical procedures and SOPs- Capable of creating and maintaining network diagrams- Demonstrated experience in network design, implementation, and performance tuning- Project management capabilities and excellent time-management skills- Expertise in hardening network devices and infrastructure for enhanced securityRequired Education:BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree; or HS Diploma and 7 years network administration, network engineering or systems administration experience.Desired Certifications:- DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II- Network - CCNAOur Company OverviewBusiness Computers Management Consulting Group, LLC (BCMC) is a small business specializing in Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity, Information Assurance (IA), SOA, Big Data Management, Program Management, and more for Federal, State, and Local agencies.
