Position Overview
As an important member of the firm's Business Development and Marketing Department, the Proposal Coordinator/ Executive will play a key role in the development of client proposals and pitches, implementation of client development initiatives, and other projects related to the pursuit of new business. This includes the creation/aggregation of content for formal requests for proposal (RFP, RFI, RFQ, Tender Offers for panel appointments) as well as client/vendor questionnaires and surveys. In addition, this role supports the global process for legal directory submissions, including Chambers, and Legal 500.
Responsibilities
Working with other members of the Global Client Development and Proposals Team, the Proposal Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Preparing responses to client Requests for Proposals and Requests for Information, from the initial planning stage to final production and delivery
- Analyzing and assisting with solicitation requirements, preparing proposal plans to include required components (graphics, biographies, narrative, etc.), outlining tasks, schedules and responsibilities
- Collaborating with Associate Director – Pitch & Pursuits, Sr. Proposal Coordinator, Business Development teams, and lawyers to develop pursuit win strategies, define and articulate value proposition, and produce professional proposals and related client materials
- Crafting new content, such as custom cover letters, executive summaries and capabilities statements on a proposal-by-proposal basis
- Coordinating with other marketing team members as needed to produce required proposal deliverables
- Working with other firm departments as necessary to prepare responses for pitches, proposals, questionnaires and surveys
- Researching prospective clients and opportunities to effectively tailor proposal messaging and related capture strategies with our Research team
- Ensuring the firm's production and quality control processes are followed for all proposal submittals
- Upholding the firm's brand standards to ensure a strong brand presence for all marketing deliverables
- Writing/editing stock marketing materials, including case descriptions and attorney biographies
- Maintaining library of commonly used proposal content in accordance with regular update schedule
- Updating Dynamics as necessary according to proposal and client pitch activity and training other members of the department in the process for logging pitches and proposals into Dynamics
- Using Dynamics dashboards and other reporting tools to prepare weekly reports and respond to requests for pitch and proposal statistics
- Other writing and client research duties as assigned
- Support the global process for Legal Directory Submission, including Chambers and Legal 500.
Essential Job Specifications/Qualifications

- 2-3 years of work experience, preferably for other professional services firms
- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- Ability to deal professionally with both internal and external clients on all levels
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with lawyers, management, staff and clients through oral and written correspondence, surveys, memos, etc.
- Proven project management, organizational, and planning skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and to meet deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure with flexibility and adaptability to changing work priorities, work flow and work assignments
- Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate projects as needed
- Ability to diplomatically provide answers, pushback or to question those in authority for greater clarity or more information, if needed
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Proven ability to think creatively, using good judgment and decision-making capabilities
- Proven ability to concentrate on the details of executing projects once the big picture has been identified by upper management
- Requires the ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled

Education/Experience/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent work experience in marketing or business development
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a professional services firm required, preferably in marketing
Pursuant to the New York and Washington D.C. pay transparency laws, BCLP is posting a reasonable estimate of a compensation range for this position. At the time of posting, the estimated New York range is $76,960 to $96,200 and the estimated Washington D.C. range is $73,520 to $91,900. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to the level of relevant experience, skill sets, training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, market data, and other job-related factors permitted by law. The range is based on a full-time work schedule. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
