Role Overview
The Finance Analyst will support the Global Director of Commercial Finance and collaborate closely with the firm’s Commercial Finance, Pricing and Legal Project Management teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and contributing to business-critical decisions. You’ll be involved in financial modelling, performance reporting, and cross-functional projects that enhance the firm’s commercial effectiveness and client service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Support the preparation of financial models, forecasts, and performance reports for client matters, practice groups, and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in the development of dashboards and KPIs to monitor financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Analyze trends in revenue, profitability, and pricing to support decision-making.
Pricing & Commercial Support
- Collaborate with the Pricing team to support the development of fee proposals, alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), and client RFP responses.
- Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to evaluate pricing strategies and client terms.
Strategic & Operational Projects
- Contribute to cross-functional projects led by the Global Director of Commercial Finance, including process improvement, system enhancements, and business planning.
- Ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights that inform strategic and operational priorities.
- Support the implementation of new tools, reporting frameworks, and best practices across the Commercial Finance function.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across Finance, other GBS departments and Fee earning teams.
- Communicate financial insights clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance audiences.
Key Skills & Experience
- 5 years of experience in a finance, commercial, or analytical role—ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and time zones.
- Proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
