What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabric R&D Assistant position at BCI Brands?

Responsibilities:
- Attending meetings with design/merchandising, sales
- Daily meetings with the head of the department
- Ordering proto and sample yardage
- Create fabric charts and assist all fabric development from L/D, Y/S to sy stage
- Daily communication with mills, vendors, and factories
- Attending fabric appointments
- Maintain and organize fabric library - file lab dips, sy, linings.
- Managing tailoring charts, binders, working with NY factories on urgent tailoring samples.
- Minimum 1 years of experience in textiles and/or degree in textiles required
- Strong understanding of fabric types and construction as well as basic knowledge of yarns, production processes, and finishing techniques
- An interest in textiles and desire to learn more about fabric sourcing
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
The salary range for this full-time position is dependent upon experience between $60,000-$65,000.
