What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance position at BCForward?
Responsibilities:
- GMP, food safety, and security enforcement across assigned production areas.
- Verify compliance with food safety policies and procedures. Complete required documentation.
- Milk receiving: paperwork, sampling, temperature checks, butter fat, acidity, pH, and organoleptic testing.
- Ingredient and kettle checks: paperwork, temperature, salt, Brix, pH, viscosity, RS View kettle release, and organoleptic evaluation.
- Filler operations: paperwork, temperature checks, metal detector and X-ray verification, seal testing, code and weight checks, and retain sample collection.
- Packing operations: paperwork, temperature and code checks, labeling verification, packaging evaluation, and organoleptic evaluation.
- Micro and lab testing: collect water and Listeria samples. Plate and incubate micro samples including milk, eggs, shelf-life, and environmental.
- Pre-operation checks: paperwork, ATP and allergen swabbing, magnet checks, cooler checks, and sanitizer concentration verification.
- Decision-making on product hold and disposition. Determine if in-process product meets specifications for pumping.
- Instruct employees on any GMP and food safety violations as observed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Effective communication with associates, leads, supervisors, and production management.
- Detail orientation and teamwork.
- Willingness to work extended shifts as needed.
- Ability to comprehend science-based material and apply testing methods.
- Ability to comprehend high school level math, including algebra.
