Job Description
We are seeking a 1st Shift Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in setup and operation of CNC and manual machines, precision measurement, and blueprint/GD&T interpretation and a proven ability to produce quality parts to specification, meet production schedules, and uphold safety and 5S standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and adjust CNC mills/lathes and select appropriate tooling and fixtures.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, routings, and GD&T to machine parts to tolerance.
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMM or comparators as applicable.
- Perform offsets, tool changes, and basic edits to programs to maintain part conformity.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, improve processes, and document production data.
- Maintain equipment through routine preventive maintenance and follow safety procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CNC machining, setup, tooling selection, and precision measurement.
- Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T with strong math skills.
- Knowledge of shop safety, 5S, and quality control practices.
- Experience: 3 years as a machinist or equivalent training/apprenticeship.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CNC programming or editing in G-code, Fanuc, Haas, or similar controls.
- Background in aerospace, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing.
