Pay Range: $22/hr - $24.75/hr (W2)
Job Description
We are seeking a 2nd Shift Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual and CNC machining on mills, lathes, and grinders and a proven ability to produce precision parts to blueprint specifications while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.
Work Schedule:
- Training shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
- Post-training shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM.
Responsibilities:
- Machine parts to specified dimensions, maintaining close tolerances, concentricity, finish, and parallelism.
- Select appropriate speeds and feeds based on material and finish requirements.
- Set up and secure work using shims, wedges, parallels, blocks, supports, chucks, and related fixtures to ensure alignment and tool safety.
- Use precision measuring instruments to inspect in-process and finished parts against blueprints and process specifications.
- Lift items up to approximately 40 pounds and work overtime or alternate shifts as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of machine shop experience operating mills, lathes, or similar equipment.
- Basic knowledge of precision tools, machining methods, and cutting characteristics of metals.
- Ability to read and follow manufacturing documentation and safety procedures.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with manual and CNC operation on mills, lathes, grinders, and coordinate measuring machines.
- 2 additional years of machining experience beyond the minimum.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Trade school technical certificate.

- Haas CNC vertical machining center.
- Bridgeport mill.
- Engine lathe.
- Surface grinder and cylindrical grinder.
- Bench grinders, belt sanders, bandsaw, and tile saw.
- Ultrasonic parts cleaner.
