Quality Control Technician
BCFoods | Bolingbrook, IL
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (42-hour workweek)
Occasional Fridays may be required based on production and business needs.

As a Quality Control Technician at BCFoods, you'll learn hands-on how food products are tested, documented, and released for shipment. This is a great opportunity for someone with a science or food interest who wants to build a career in Quality Assurance or Food Safety.
What You'll Do
- Perform hourly product line checks and record results
- Verify that finished goods meet product specifications
- Follow and support company food safety, GMP, and quality standards
- Collect and label samples for laboratory testing
- Conduct basic sensory evaluations and document findings
- Operate simple lab equipment safely and accurately
- Support pest-control inspections and housekeeping checks
- Assist with customer sample requests and packaging
- Participate in HACCP and safety meetings
What Success Looks Like
- Product line checks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Finished goods consistently meet product specifications.
- Quality records are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Food safety, GMP, and quality standards are followed consistently.
- Samples are collected, labeled, and documented correctly.
- Laboratory equipment is operated safely and properly.
- Customer samples are prepared accurately and on time.
- Team members actively support food safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Coursework, internship, or degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field — or a strong interest in food manufacturing
- Great attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
- Ability to accurately document inspection results and quality findings
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and stand or walk for most of the shift
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, or basic food safety concepts
- Experience with laboratory sampling in a food manufacturing environment
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new processes
