Meat Cutter 202510194

Seeking a skilled and dependable Meat Cutter to join our team. Must be 18 years or older. The ideal candidate will be experienced in cutting, trimming, grinding, and processing meat, as well as producing value-added products such as jerky and sausage. This role requires a strong understanding of meat quality, safety standards, and sanitation practices in accordance with local and state health codes.

As part of local business, you will be expected to deliver excellent customer service and maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming meat department.

Pay based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

· Cut, trim, bone, and prepare various types of meats (beef, pork, poultry, etc.) to customer specifications and store standards.

· Produce and package smoked and dried meat products such as jerky and make sausages using appropriate methods and recipes.

· Manage and maintain accurate grind logs and meat traceability records per health code regulations.

· Operate meat cutting equipment and grinders safely and effectively.

· Maintain cleanliness and sanitize all equipment and work areas (cutting tables, grinders, saws, etc.) following daily sanitation schedules.

· Ensure compliance with all local and state health codes and food safety regulations.

· Monitory meat quality, freshness, rotation, and shelf life to minimize waste.

· Assist with meat counter stocking, pricing, and customer inquiries.

· Provide friendly, small-town customer service and answer questions related to cuts of meat and preparation.

Qualifications:

· Prior experience as a meat cutter.

· Familiarity with health and food safety regulations, including grind log maintenance.

· Ability to make jerky and sausage is a plus.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.

· Able to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for extended periods.

· Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a small team.

· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
