What are the responsibilities and job description for the Installation Specialist position at BCE?
This position are the plans and leads installations for the Bureau of Correctional Enterprises (BCE) including delivery, installation of products, oversight and project management of contracted installers and major projects throughout the state of Wisconsin. The position is responsible for high proficiency in quality assurance and customer satisfaction requiring expert levels of professional communication and presentation. This position is responsible for the security, custody and direct supervision and training of Person’s in Our Care (PIOC) work crews assigned to the Industries Distribution Center (IDC) and throughout the state of Wisconsin in temporary release orders from the correctional center system. A DOT Commercial Driver's License is required.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 03-14 with a starting pay of $28.11. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period of one year is required.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position is not eligible for remote work.
Shift: Monday- Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
- Leading and/or overseeing the work of others (e.g. training, coaching, mentoring, assigning duties, reviewing work, etc.)
- Handling distribution and inventory tasks (Such as: receipt and delivery of products, direct scheduling of shipments/deliveries, routes, equipment and pickups, etc.)
- Providing customer service (such as: resolving customer issues, documenting transactions, communicating expectations, etc.)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and will be required to meet State of Wisconsin fleet requirements. Will be required to maintain a valid driver's license and eligibility to drive a fleet vehicle.
- Must obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s license within 90 days of appointment and maintain Class A License during employment.
- Will need to be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and be able to perform needed movement for delivery and installation of products to customer work or storage sites.
- May be required to spend overnights depending on the delivery.
