About the Role
The Financial Controller provides analysis and recommendations to help management make sound operating decisions that reduce costs, improve profits, and increase return on investment, ensuring the company meets financial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations, including AP/AR, job cost accounting, payroll, and cash flow management.
- Develop and maintain the system of internal accounting controls and financial reporting.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, monthly statements, Work-In-Progress reporting & General Ledger.
- Ensure cash flow is aligned with company operations by overseeing the organization's day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Teach, train, and develop proficiency in accounting software.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal tax regulations.
- Process weekly payroll.
- Year-end review of financial documents in conjunction with our CPA partnership.
- Maintain and grow both Insurance and Banking relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Required Skills
- 4 years of experience as a Controller
- Payroll experience a plus
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge and proficiency in AIA Billing
- Extreme attention to detail
- Ability to meet financial deadlines and support multiple projects
- Ability to lead a team
- Must be based out of Kansas City, MO
