Summary:
The Director & Lead Actuary will serve as the primary actuarial partner for our International Medical portfolio. Reporting directly to the Head Underwriter, this role provides strategic pricing leadership, underwriting support, and oversight of reserving and block management. The Director & Lead Actuary will collaborate across functions and communicate regularly with executive leadership, including the CFO and CEO.

The Director & Lead Actuary will collaborate across functions and communicate regularly with executive leadership, including the CFO and CEO.
Responsibilities:
- Lead pricing strategy and model development for international medical products.
- Develop pricing and financial support for business development including new products and services.
- Partner closely with underwriting to assess risk, support case decisions, and optimize portfolio performance.
- Oversee reserving processes, including establishing and reviewing reserves.
- Prepare actuarial opinions, regulatory filings, and related documentation.
- Provide clear, concise communication and insights to senior executives and key internal stakeholders.
- Drive project execution, ensuring timely delivery and effective cross-functional engagement.
- Identify emerging trends and make strategic recommendations to enhance product and business results.
- Associate (ASA) of the Society of Actuaries.
- 8 years of actuarial experience, preferably within health or international medical insurance.
- Demonstrated expertise in pricing, underwriting support, and reserving.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
- Flexibility to work in an office and/or at-home, remote office environment.
- Schedule flexibility is occasionally necessary in this position. Individual may be required to attend key business/departmental meetings and/or perform certain business critical job functions outside of normal working hours.
