Position Summary:
The Working Foreman – Erosion Control is a hands-on field position responsible for performing erosion and sediment control tasks on active construction sites. This role focuses on installation, maintenance, and site stabilization efforts including silt fence, seeding, and mulching. This position works alongside the crew and supports daily field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install silt fence, inlet protection, and other erosion control measures
- Perform seeding, strawing/mulching, and general site stabilization
- Assist with maintaining erosion control systems throughout the project lifecycle
- Follow site plans and direction from project managers and superintendents
- Operate light equipment such as skid steers or mini excavators (if experienced)
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Load, unload, and transport materials as needed
- Perform general labor duties as required on construction sites
Qualifications:
- Experience in erosion control, grading, or sitework preferred
- Familiarity with silt fence installation and seeding/mulching a plus
- Light equipment experience is a plus but not required
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform manual labor for extended periods
- Comfortable working on uneven terrain and active construction sites
