What You Would Do
In this entry level position you would be responsible for clerical duties in our Legal Department including processing time sensitive documents, maintaining court dockets, processing court documents in ICCES, preparation of a variety of forms mandated by law and assisting attorneys with administration throughout the litigation process.
How You Would Do It (include, but are not limited to, the following):
- Prepare files for the process of filing suit, assuring all necessary documents are received and processed.
- Prepare documents for scheduled court dates in a timely manner.
- Process incoming documents and filing them in the court systems ICCES.
- Maintain a calendar for all dockets assigned.
- Prepare a court docket for attorney’s to use at court.
- Prepare and file appropriate documents.
- Process answers that are in response to the litigation filed.
- Update computer systems with the court findings.
- Answer telephones and emails, responding to questions from other staff in regard to status of files.
- Customer Service skills, for limited contact with clients, court clerks and sheriff departments.
- Process responses from our clients.
- Alphabetize documents
- E-filing documents electronically in ICCES, scanning documents to FACS for future reference, scanning documents to the server for record keeping.
- Putting court papers together for service.
- Making copies for courts.
What You Must Have
- Previous office/clerical experience to include data entry and customer service
- Detail oriented self starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills
- Computer Systems - experience working with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook
- Intermediate Keyboarding/Typing skills
- High School Graduate or GED

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer. Frequent hand and finger use is necessary for typing, navigating systems, and handling office tools or equipment. The role also requires:

- Active listening and sufficient hearing ability to engage in phone-based conversations, sometimes in environments with moderate background noise
- Visual acuity, including close and distance vision, and screen reading
- Occasional standing, walking, reaching, or lifting/moving items up to 25 pounds
